James J. Cutler, member of a formerly well-known family in the Irish settlement in Madison county, died Friday, Feb. 28, 1968, at a hospital in Biloxi, Miss. He was 57 years of age.
He lived near St. Patrick's church in this county until 14 years ago, when he moved to Portland, Ore. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two brothers, Edward Cutler of Los Angeles, Calif., and Joseph Cutler of St. Louis, Mo.; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Irwin and Mrs. Margaret Holland of Des Moines and Mrs. Florence Hotchkin of Grinnell.
Rosary services were held Monday of last week in Des Moines, with funeral services Tuesday from St. Ambrose cathedral there. Burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery in Lee township.
