John Lyle Luers, 94, of Truro died Jan. 8, 2005, at Adel Acres Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. A visitation and luncheon will follow at the Truro United Church of Christ. A private committal service will be held at the Hebron Cemetery in Adair County.
Lyle Luers was born Jan. 26, 1910, to Frank and Edna (Elliott) Luers of rural Hebron in Adair County. In 1939, he married Fern Grimma. Lyle farmed in Adair and Union counties until 1976, when he and his wife retired and moved to Truro.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two infant brothers and a sister.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharlene Ludwig of Portland, Ore., and Marilyn Luers of West Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity that benefits homeless animals.
