Leona Mobley Dies at 92

Leona L. Mobley, 92 year old homemaker and resident of Madison County for most of her life, died Tuesday July 24, 1973 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Mobley was born July 18, 1881 in Grand River Township of Madison County, the daughter of T. J. Porter and Rosa Grandfield Porter. She was married to C. H. Mobley on June 19, 1901 at her parent's home in Macksburg.

Affilitated with the W.S.C.S. Methodist Church of Lorimor, Mrs. Mobley was a former member of Rebekah Lodge 350 of Macksburg and a charter member of the Kasson Friendship Club.

Surviving Mrs. Mobley is her husband, C. H. Mobley of Winterset, 94 years of age; a son, Everett Mobley; a grandchild, Earl Dean Mobley of Sioux City; and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother, Floyd Porter of Memphis, Tennessee. Mrs. Mobley was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs Mobley were conducted Friday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with burial at Moon Cemetery in Macksburg. The Rev. Dr. Paul Hann of Winterset officiated.
