A farmer in the Lorimor area, retired and living in Winterset, Charles H. Mobley, died Tuesday, October 5, 1976 at Villa West Care Center. He was 97 years of age.
A resident of Winterset since 1971, Mr. Mobley was born February 26, 1879 in Madison County, the son of Willis Mobley and Emily Alice Stewart. His marriage to Leona Lillian Porter took place June 19, 1901 at the home of her parents, T. J. Porter.
Affiliated with the Methodist Church, Mr. Mobley was a past member of I.O.O.F. Lodge 406 in Macksburg. He is survived by one son, Everett Mobley of Winterset, one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Mobley was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and his wife.
Funeral services for Charles H. Mobley were conducted Friday, October 8 at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Paul Hann officiating. Burial was made at the Moon Cemetery, Macksburg.
