Services for Robert L. Bobst, 65, Earlham, who died of a heart attack Jan. 21 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines, were held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the First Presbyterian Church in Earlham. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.
Mr. Bobst was born April 6, 1921, the son of Fred and Katherine Bobst at Alexander, Iowa, and lived most of his early life in the St. Charles area, graduating from Patterson High School. He served in the Air Force as a navigator during World War II and was married to Sheryl Junkin Oct. 2, 1943 at San Marcos, Texas, and the couple had three children.
Following the war, he farmed in the Earlham and Panora areas. He was an International Harvester dealer in Earlham for 17 years and retired from Iowa Public Television where he was an engineer for 20 years.
Mr. Bobst was a trustee of First Presbyterian Church in Earlham, a member of Madison Lodge No. 568, A.F.& A.M. and the Raccoon Valley Amateur Radio Club.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael of Dexter; daughters, Christina Bobst of Earlham and Printha Fox of Culbertson, Neb.; his mother, Anna Bobst of Winterset; a brother, Paul Bobst of St. Charles; and five grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church.

Thursday, January 29, 1987Robert L. Bobst, son of Fred and Katherine Bobst, passed away January 21, 1987 at the Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines of a heart condition.
Robert was born April 6, 1921 at Alexander, Iowa and lived most of his early life in the St. Charles area, graduating from Patterson High School. He served in the Air force as a navigator during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Sheryl Junkins on October 2, 1943 at San Marcos, Texas, and to this union three children were born — Michael, Christina and Printha.
Following service he farmed in the Earlham and Panora areas. He was an International Harvester dealer in Earlham for 17 years. Robert retired in October 1986 from Iowa Public Television where he was an engineer for 20 years.
He was a Trustee of First Presbyterian Church in Earlham, a member of Madison Lodge #568, A.F. & A.M. and Raccoon Valley Amateur Radio Club.
Robert was preceded in death by his father. Survivors are his wife, Sherly; son Michael, of Dexter; daughters Christina Bobst, of Earlham and Printha Fox of Culbertson, Nebraska; his mother Anna Katherine Bobst, of Winterset; a brother, Paul Bobst of St. Charles, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 24, 1987 at the First Presbyterian Church, Earlham, Iowa with the Reverend Gladys Priest officiating. Organ music was provided by donna Fastle. Pallbearers were Mike Millger, Curtis Hiatt, James Binns, John Godby, John Binns and Mike Cruca. Honorary pallbearers were Alden Lorimor, William Price, Earl Anker, Frank Inman, James Wilkie and Wayne Swallow. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
