Kenneth McCorkle, Winterset

Kenneth M. McCorkle, 90, died Aug. 12, 2002, of multiple organ failure at Winterset Care Center South.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 14) at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with Pastor Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Kenneth McCorkle was born April 28, 1912, in Madison County to Walter and Vergie (Seevers) McCorkle. On Dec. 20, 1970, he married Geraldine Osborn. Ken farmed in Madison County for most of his life. Following retirement, he had resided in Des Moines and Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, of Urbandale; two stepsons, Donald Osborn of Milpitas, Calif., and Al Osborn of Urbandale; a stepdaughter, Ardis Porter of Des Moines; a sister Lola Howell of Winterset; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
