Funeral Services Are Set for Friday at Hill of Zion Church
Leander Bush, a resident of Winterset since 1944, died here Wednesday morning at the age of 78 years.
Mr. Bush moved here five years ago from the Zion neighborhood of Adair county where he had lived on the same farm for 39 years.
He was born near Burlington Dec. 2, 1876, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson Bush. He came to Madison county early in life, and was married in Winterset in 1898 to Edith Gatchel. They lived on a farm near the present Pammel State park for seven years before moving to Adair county.
Surviving are his wife, five children, Harry Bush of Swartz Creek, Mich., Mrs. Elsie Martin of Greenfield, Mrs. Alice Martin of Durand, Mich., Lucile Bush of Corydon and Mrs. Gladys Stark of Corydon. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Mary Rankin of Winterset, and three brothers, Robert F. Bush of Winterset, Thomas J. Bush of Orient and J. Ellis Bush of Albia.
Funeral services will be held this Friday at 2:30 p. m. from the Hill of Zion church in Adair county, in charge of the Rev. I. E. Linkletter, pastor of the Winterset church of Christ.
