Florence Geraldine Lenocker, 90, of Dexter died Sept. 1, 1998, at Guthrie County Hospital in Guthrie Center.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 4, at the United Methodist Church in Dexter with the Revs. Kathy Sides and Shirley Lockard officiating. Burial was at Dexter cemetery.
Florence Lenocker was born Sept. 11, 1907, at the family home located south of Exira to George Albert and Olga Marie (Jensen) Wells. With the exception of three years spent with her family in Cudworth, Canada, and a short time as a young girl living near Winterset, she spent her entire lifetime in the Dexter area. She was a 1926 graduate of Dexter Public School. On Oct. 15, 1926, she married Frantz Moore Lenocker. She was involved in the family operation of TeLinDaLee Grain and Livestock Farm in Penn Township where she helped raise, feed and show cattle and contributed much time and energy to the development of a herd of purebred Red Angus cattle. She was honored as Iowa Outstanding Cowbelle in 1981. She also pursued her love for horses through riding for pleasure, the show ring and breeding Quarter horses and Appaloosas. Florence was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church and a past member of the United Methodist Women, Dexter Garden Club, Iowa Cowbelles Association, Madison County Cowbelles, the National, Midwest and Iowa Red Angus Associations, Apple Tree Players and Thursday Tea League Bowlers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by four children, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kuhn Funeral Home in Dexter.
