Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, from First United Methodist Church of Winterset for Patricia L. Penrod, 49, who died Sunday, January 22, 1978 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
The daughter of Edward H. and Neva Oliphant Feddern, Mrs. Penrod was born January 23, 1928 in Waterloo, Iowa. Her marriage to Melvin E. Penrod took place June 8, 1947 at Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. Penrod was a resident of Madison County with her family for 29 years.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin, a coach and teacher at Winterset High School since 1949; a son Paul at home; two daughters, Penny of Minneapolis and Julie, a student at Coe College at Cedar Rapids; her father, Edward H. Feddern of Cedar Rapids; five brothers, Edward, Norman, Donald and Richard of Cedar Rapids and Gary Feddern of Creston and two sisters, Jayne Zitek and Peggy Bacher, both of Cedar Rapids.
Mrs. Penrod was preceded in death by her mother.
Officiating at Wednesday's services was Rev. Byron Ayers of Winterset. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Lillard-Miller Scholarship Fund at Winterset High School.
