ELLA FORD Died Here On Monday

Mrs. Ella J. Ford, member of a widely known family here, died Monday, April 7, 1947, at the age of 87 years.

Mrs. Ford was a native of Palestine, Ohio, where she was born in June 1859, the daughter of the Rev. P. W. and Lavina Jellison. She came with her parents to Winterset as a young girl, and her early life was spent in this community.

Her father was a pioneer preacher in Winterset, serving as pastor of the old First Christian church here for many years.

She was married Sept. 4, 1878, to S. D. Ford, of near Winterset. For many years they lived on a farm in Jackson township, but moved into Winterset 44 years ago. Mr. Ford died in 1915.

Mrs. Ford was a member of the West Star Methodist Church, changing to the Winterset Methodist church after moving here.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles Kuntz; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday from the Ramsey-Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Reed Kessler. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
