Harland J. Boyd, a native of Madison County and resident here for 25 years, died Monday June 26, 1978, at Downey, Calif. His home was in South Gate, Calif.
Mr. Boyd was born September 15, 1920, the son of Guy H. and Marie E. Jamison Boyd. His marriage to Miriam Zinser took place in 1953 at Raton, New Mexico. She survives her husband.
Mr. Boyd was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Coast Guard. He was employed as a meat cutter in Los Angeles before his death.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam; a son, Guy H. Boyd and a daughter, Zin Marie Evans, both of South Gate, Calif.; a brother, Herbert of Knoxville, Iowa; his mother, Marie Boyd of Winterset and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister.
Funeral services for Harland Boyd were conducted Monday July 3,at 10:30 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Rev. Alan Parker officiated.
