T. F. MONAGHAN Is Buried Here

Thomas F. Monaghan, a widely-known Madison county resident most of his life, died suddenly on Wednesday of last week at his home near Mt. Ayr.

Death was thought to have been the result of chest injuries sustained last June when he had been attacked by a bull.

Mr. Monaghan was 57 years of age. He was born in Union township of this county on Nov. 25, 1887, the son of Edward and Ellen Monaghan. His entire life was spent as a farmer in Union township until two years ago last spring, when he moved to Mt. Ayr.

He was married in 1915 to Margaret Monaghan. They were the parents of seven children. Mrs. Monaghan and all the children survive. They are Mrs. Gertrude Holland of Detroit, Mich., Thomas E. Monaghan of the U.S. Coast Guard, Jack Monaghan of the U.S. Army, Mary Margaret Monaghan of the Spars, and Robert, James, and William at home.

Mr. Monaghan also leaves a brother, James Monaghan, and two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Melroy and Mrs. P. J. Cunningham, all of Winterset.

Funeral services were held this Monday from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, with requiem high mass in charge of the pastor, the Rev. J. J. Judge. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
