Mary Ella Taylor, the eldest daughter of Elizabeth Thompson and George Taylor, was born at Cincinnati, Ohio, August 29, 1859. It was in this city that she received her formal education in public and Latin schools, and where she lived until young womanhood. At the age of seventeen, she moved, with her family, to Earlham, Iowa, and later to Kingsley, Iowa. It was at Kingsley that she married Augustus Melvin Bricker on April 30, 1881. To this union was born seven children-Ralph, Gertrude, Walter, Charles, Clarence, Earl, and Herschel-all of whom were born at Penn Center.

Mr. and Mrs. Bricker, with their family, moved to a farm north east of Earlham in 1908. They lived there until 1920, at which time they made their home at the town of Earlham.

Melvin and Ella Bricker lived a happy and full life together for fifty-four years-Mr. Bricker having passed away in February of 1935. The three of her children who also preceeded her in death are-Gertrude, Clarence, and Ralph.

Among the host of friends and relatives, she leaves to mourn her loss-Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bricker and Lela; Mrs. Ralph Bricker and Ila, Russell, Hazel, and Melvin; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bricker and Cecelia and Kenneth-all of Earlham; Mr. Earl Bricker and Patricia of Winterset; Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Bricker of Orono, Maine; and her brother, Clarence Taylor, and family, of Kingsley, Iowa.

EARLHAM ITEMS OF NEWS INTEREST

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Ella Bricker at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, with C. A. Crouse in charge. Musical selections were sung by a mixed quartet.

Mrs. Bricker died Monday noon at her home in Earlham in Earlham at the age of 87 years. Her husband and three children have preceded her in death.

She is survived by four sons, Walter, Earl, Charles, and Herschel and their families.

Burial was made in the Penn Center Cemetery.
