Norma Greenfield, Winterset

Norma Elizabeth Greenfield, 94, of Winterset died of congestive heart failure March 4, 2001, at her home.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, March 7) at 10:30 a.m. at Foursquare Gospel Church in Winterset with Steve Raymond and the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Peru Cemetery.

Norma Greenfield was born Dec. 8, 1906 in Madison County to George Washington and Myrtle (Lane) Hann. She married Moody Greenfield on May 24, 1930 at the Hutchinson-Wintrode House in Winterset.

She taught for many years, specializing in special education. Throughout her career, Norma had taught at the country schools of Silliman and Guye and also at Peru, Lonestar School, Macksburg, Lorimor, DeSoto and Winterset. She was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, a brother and a sister.

She is survived by a son, Jim Greenfield (wife Joanne) of Georgetown, La.; a daughter Evelyn Wedge of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren' 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Grandson Steve Raymond (wife Kathy) is a resident of Winterset.
