Alice Miller, Winterset

Mary Alice Miller, 93, died February 7, 1993, at Bethesda Care Center,. Funeral services were held Wed. Feb. 10 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller was born in Winterset on November 17, 1899, to Charles A. and Lora (Brinson) Mills. She married Clifford Miller on March 29, 1945 in Winterset. She was a lifetime resident of Winterset and was a retired nurse. She was the first school nurse for the Winterset school system and an operating room nurse for Madison County Memorial Hospital. She later worked with her husband in the Miller Drug Store until 1959. She was a life member of the Madison County Historical Society, the Iris Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband and two brothers.

She is survived by a step-son, William Miller of Hays, Kan.; a brother, Charles Mills and wife Grace of Winterset; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to the First Christian church or the Madison County Historical Society.
