Mabel Irene Koboldt, 86, of Winterset and formerly of Earlham, died June 22, 2004.
Funeral services were held Monday June 28, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with Pastor Linda Burnett and Robert Waldron officiating. Burial was at Worthington Cemetery in rural Earlham.
Mabel Koboldt was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Madison County to Earl and Onie (Brown) Miller. She attended country schools and Winterset High School before graduating from Earlham High School in 1935. She also attended normal school in Earlham and went on to teach country school for two years near Winterset. On Feb. 14, 1939, she married Earl Koboldt at the home of her parents. Mabel assisted her husband with the family farm and cattle operation. She was a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau for over 40 years and the Earlham Home Health Care staff. She also had been a 4-H leader and a member of the 4-H County Committee.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Karl.
She is survived by two daughters, Karel Farnsworth of Adair and Marjorie Koboldt of Earlham; one son Kenneth Koboldt of Earlham; and two granddaughters.
