Earl A. Koboldt, Earlham

Services for Earl Allen Koboldt, 69, Earlham, who died of cancer Feb. 14 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Thursday, Feb. 16 at the United Methodist Church, Earlham, and burial was at the Worthington Cemetery.

Mr. Koboldt was born in Rippey and lived in the Earlham area most of his life. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; a son, Kenneth of Earlham; two daughters, Karel Farnsworth of Adair and Marjorie Koboldt of Tyler, Tex.; a brother, Wayne of Earlham; four sisters, Myra Spencer and Amy Leggett both of Earlham, Mae Martens of Winterset and Nina Davis of Oskaloosa and two granddaughters.

Earl Allen Koboldt was born April 19, 1914 at Rippey, Iowa. He was the son of Harry and Martha Allen Koboldt. He departed this life on February 14, 1984 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

On February 14, 1939 he was united in marriage to Mabel Miller at rural Winterset. They spent most of their married life in farming. Earl retired from farming in 1978 when they moved to Earlham.

Earl is survived by his wife, Mabel; one son, Kenneth of Earlham; two daughters, Karel Farnsworth of Adair, Iowa and Marjorie Koboldt of Tyler, Texas; two granddaughters, Deanna and Karen Farnsworth; one brother, Wayne of Earlham and four sisters, Myra Spencer and Amy Leggett of Earlham, Mae Martens of Winterset and Nina Davis of Oskaloosa, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and an infant son.

Funeral services were held February 16 at the Earlham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian T. Miller officiating. Organ music was provided by Gretchen Brittain. Pallbearers were Larry Spencer, Bruce Koboldt, Douglas Tomlinson, Roger Easley, Lee Spencer, Wayne Thrailkill, G. R. Tomlinson and Richard Basart. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Mark, Don Ross, George Radakovich, Robert Branam, Dale Mills and Russell Ralston.

Interment was at Worthington Cemetery, rural Earlham.
