LORRAINE BAUR, rural Van Meter

Memorial services for Lorraine Baur, 83, rural Van Meter, who died March 5, 1990, at 705 S. 8th Ave. in Winterset, were held Sat., March 10, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lisa Klein officiating. Burial was at the United Brethern Cemetery in Jefferson township preceding the memorial service.

Born at Pomeroy, Iowa on Nov. 20, 1906, she was the daughter of John F. and Angelica Eppler Gutz. She was a home maker and had lived in Jefferson township of Madison County since 1933, coming from Chicago. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the PEO, Progressive Study Club, Antique Club, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Madison County Republican Women, Des Moines Club and served on the Madison County Hospital board. She was a graduate of Iowa State University and was a professional home economist before moving to Madison County.

On Jan. 15, 1933, she was married to R. Edward Baur.

Survivors include a son, Robert Baur of rural Van Meter; daughters, Karla Tillotson of Des Moines and Ann Larson of Minneapolis, Minn, a sister, Marcella Gibbs of Greenfield; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, and her parents.
