Page 1Death of Ardis Thomas
Ardis Loree Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Thomas, of Webster township, died at the Winterset hospital, Thursday, September 25. She was thirteen years of age at the time of her death. She underwent an operation at the hospital for a ruptured appendix. It was found that peritonitis had set in, causing her death.
She was born near Eads, Colorado, June 30, 1917, and moved with her family to Orient in 1919. They have recently been living on a farm in Webster township.
She is survived by her parents, one brother and three sisters, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter, of Orient.
The funeral services were conducted at Wesley Chapel, Saturday afternoon, September 27th, and burial was in the Orient cemetery. Rev. C. M. Rowe conducted the services.

Ardis Loree Thomas
Ardis Loree Thomas, daughter of Ted and Bernice Carpenter Thomas, was born near Eads, Colorado, June 30, 1917. She came with the family to Orient in 1919. The (They) have more recently been living on a farm in Webster township, where Ardis attended school.
She accepted Christ and united with the Wesley Chapel of M. E. church last spring. After a brief illness she passed away in the Winterset hospital, September 25, 1930, at the age of 13 years, 2 months and 26 days.
She leaves besides her parents, one brother and three sisters, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter of Orient, and many other relatives.
Rev. C. M. Rowe conducted the funeral service at Wesley Chapel, Saturday afternoon, September 27, and the burial was in the Orient cemetery.
