Mrs. J. W. Roberts Dies

Mrs. J. W. Roberts, former Winterset resident, died at her home in Adair county Friday, Dec. 2, at the age of 80 years. She was ill for only a short time.

Mrs. Roberts was the former Eva Jane Tullis, daughter of John S. and Margaret Kiser Tullis. She was born near Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, but moved to Hebron, in Adair county with her parents when she was 13 years of age. After living there a short time, they moved to Winterset, where she attended the Winterset high school, and was a graduate of the first graduating class. Following this she taught school in Grand River township, Adair county, and was married to James William Roberts in 1886. Mr. Roberts died in 1936, and they are survived by their three children, Mrs. Ollie Hoyt of Guthrie, Okla., James T. and Lloyd Roberts of Greenfield.

Funeral services were held at the Greenfield Presbyterian church Sunday, Dec. 4th, and burial was made in the Grand River cemetery.
