Alberta Holliday, Winterset

Alberta Selma Holliday, 78, died Dec. 7, 2002, at Winterset Care Center North of complications of Alzheimer's disease.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Dr. John Shaull officiating. Burial of the cremains was at Winterset Cemetery.

Alberta Holliday was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Winterset to George and Lois (Clark) Koehler. She was a graduate of Winterset High School. On Feb. 21, 1948, she married Kenneth Holliday at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Alberta co-owned and operated Holliday's Candy Kitchen. She had resided in Winterset until moving to Nampa, Idaho, in 1968. She and her husband moved back to Winterset in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gary Holliday; and two brothers, Charles Koehler and Albert Koehler.

She is survived by two sons, Randy Holliday (wife Debbie) of Denver, Colo., and Rusty Holliday (wife Sheri) of Winterset; a daughter, Janet Palmeri (husband Tom) of Nampa, Idaho; a brother, Richard Koehler (wife Betty) of Winterset; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or Middle River Hospice.
