NELLIE MAE HUNTER

Nellie M. Hunter, the daughter of Hugh H. and Ella Stultz Kerr was born July 17, 1888 in Montrose, Iowa. She passed away February 14, 1981 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines after a short illness.

Nellie graduated from Montrose High School. She later graduated from Highland Park College and moved to Earlham where she worked for Citizens State Bank.

On July 30, 1919 she was united in marriage to Ralph Hunter in Montrose, Iowa. One son, Robert, blessed their marriage. They made their home in Earlham.

Nellie was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church. Her church was a very important part of her life and she served it in many capacities. She also was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Chautaqua Federated Woman's Club.

Survivors include her loving husband Ralph, son Robert and his wife, Marilyn, two grandsons, John and William and one granddaughter, Shelly Smith; two great grandchildren, Mollie Lynn and Noah Brock.

Funeral services were conducted from the First Presbyterian Church, Earlham, Iowa, on February 16, 1981 with Rev. Harold Butz and Rev. Ernest Baiotto officiating. Mrs. Donna Fastle provided the organ music and accompanied the congregational singing. Casket bearers were Paul Anderson, Myron DeVore, John Godby, Jim Kress, Keven Marlenee and Paul Schafer. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa. Professional arrangements by McKee Funeral Homes, Earlham and Dexter, Iowa
