Lloyd Bond, Winterset

Lloyd R. Bond, 79, of Winterset, died April 20, 1995 of a heart ailment at his residence. Funeral services were April 24 at the Earlham First Presbyterian Church in Earlham. The Rev. Ray Martin and the Rev. Andrew Bosman officiated the services. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 8, 1916 in Madison County to Ray E. and Lois Anna (Nelson) Bond. He married Mary Anne Barrus on Feb. 2, 1946 in Winterset. He later married Jessie Robey Sawhill on Nov. 25, 1967 at the Pitzer United Presbyterian Church. He was a farmer and a lifetime resident of Madison County. He was a member of the Earlham First Presbyterain Church and a lifetime member of the American Angus Association; a founding member of the Madison County Angus Association; and a member of the Winterset's Square Dance Club. He had served in the United State Army during W W II.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Jessie Bond of Winterset; one son, William J. Bond of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Linda Ruth Card of Windsor Locks, Conn.; one step-son, John Sawhill of Winterset; one step-daughter, Eyleen McKinley of Brooklyn; two grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
