Bessie Edgington, Winterset

Bessie Embree Edgington, 75, died August 7, 1993 at the V.A Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Tues. at Collins Funeral Home with John Safford officiating. Burial, along with military graveside services, was at Winterset Cemetery.

Mrs. Edgington was born November 8, 1917 to Elmer and Elizabeth (Jinks) Zenor in Spencer. Her adoptive parents were Dr. and Winnie (Jinks) Embree. She married Russell Edgington, August 28, 1942 in Grant City, Mo. A homemaker and lifelong Winterset resident, she was a member of the P.E.O. and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by both sets of parents.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Russell of Winterset; two sons, Embree Edgington and wife Annette of Waukee and Charles Edgington of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; one daughter, Permilla Horst and husband Andrew of Blue Grass; and five grandchildren.
