Martin F. Tracy

Martin F. Tracy, Sr., a resident of Madison county for the past four years, died at his home on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 1944.

Martin Tracy was a native of Illinois, where he was born on January 19, 1874. Before coming to Madison county in 1940 he lived in Adair county, where he married Miss Emma Katherine Reis. They were the parents of nine children: Richard, Elma and Irene at home; Corp. Thomas James, stationed in England; Martin F. Jr., of Greenfield; Raymond and Margaretha of Adair; Marie Bindel of Winterset and Marcella Miller of Los Angeles, Calif. Also surviving are four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a. m. from St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset. Requiem high mass was offered by Father J. J. Judge, while Clarence Hogan sang. Burial was made in the St. Marys cemetery near Bridgewater.
