Cora Eva Giddings, 87, a resident of Fort Jones, Calif., died at her home on Thursday, March 29. Services were held in the Fort Jones Cemetery Monday, April 2.
She was born in Walnut Township, Madison County on Oct. 17, 1896, the daughter of Mack and Alice Foster Robinson. She attended Iowa Sanitarium Nurses Training, graduating October 18, 1918. On Dec. 23, 1922, she married Ralph A. Giddings. The Giddings operated the Winterset Hospital and a jewelry store in Winterset before moving to California around 1940.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene A. Giddings of Fort Jones, California; Robert R. Giddings of Orangevale, Calif.; sisters, Mrs. Gladys Simmons of Winterset and Mrs. Catherine Hiatt of Pueblo, Colo.; a brother, Everett Robinson of Orlando, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Jamison and Mrs. Grace Christensen; and her husband, Ralph who died two years ago.
