Marie Crawford Dies At Fort Dodge

Services for Mrs. Marie Crawford, 79, of Ft. Dodge were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Presbyterian Church in Ft. Dodge, with the Rev. Dr. Gary R. Hindman, minister. The Rev. Richard Miller, mission consultant to the Synod of Lakes and Prairies, and Jeff Carlson, assistant pastor, officiating.

Additional services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pitzer Presbyterian Church with burial at Penn Center Cemetery, both near Earlham.

Mrs. Crawford died Saturday morning, Aug. 9th, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Ft. Dodge following a short illness.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Max (Dorothy) Beverlin, Fort Dodge; a son, Charles L. Crawford, Adair; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Blanche Abrahams, Winterset; Mrs. Wilma Naumann, Santa Monica, Calif.; and Mrs. Betty Braman, Winterset.

Marie Rogers was born in Madison County and graduated from Winterset High School. She then taught schools in Madison County. She married George Crawford in 1924 at Winterset, and the couple made their home on the family farm near Winterset. Mr. Crawford died in 1969. Mrs. Crawford moved to Ft. Dodge in 1973.

She was an Elder of the United Presbyterian Church at Pitzer and was also a member of the United Presbyterian Women Circle. She was a member of the Mariners at First United Presbyterian Church, Fort Dodge.

Mrs. Crawford did volunteer work at Friendship Haven, Ellen's Convalescent Health Center and Villa Care Center, all in Ft. Dodge.
