Cash Crawford, Winterset,

Cash A. Crawford, 102, died of multiple organ system failure Nov. 11, 2003, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 14, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Burial was at Penn Center Cemetery in rural Earlham.

Cash Crawford was born May 3, 1901 in Madison County to Charlie and Sarah Ellen (Reed) Crawford. On Oct. 30, 1923, he married Merle Ellen Beaman. Cash was a retired farmer. He had resided in Madison County until 1934, when he moved to Adair County. Following retirement in 1966, he moved back to Madison County where he remained for the rest of his life. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset and a former member of Webster Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Laura Mae Hildebrand; and two brothers, George Crawford and Earl Crawford.

He is survived by a son, Paul Crawford of Dexter,; a daughter, Ann (Crawford) Hoadley of Dexter; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
