Wednesday, January 31, 1973Clee R. Crawford, a resident of the Winterset community most of his life, died Sunday, January 28 at Memorial Hospital here. He ws 69 years of age. Death resulted from complications of pneumonia.
Mr. Crawford served as a time-keeper for the W.P.A. projects in Madison County during all the years those government projects were in effect here. He later was employed by Brittain's Standard Parts, retiring in 1965.
He was widely known as an outstanding amateur photographer, his interest centering in covered bridges, wild flowers and similar subjects.
He had been an active member of the Madison County Odd Fellows lodge since 1948.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ada B. Crawford of Truro; a son, Gene R. Crawford of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Winnie Armstrong of St. Charles; and three brothers, Keith Crawford of Truro, James Crawford of State Center and Duane Crawford of Truro, He also leaves four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Irvin Wilkins of State Center. Burial was to be made in the St. Charles cemetery.
