Wednesday, April 19, 1967ELMER EIVINS of Macksburg Dies
Elmer C. Eivins of Macksburg, a long-time resident of Madison county, died Saturday, April 15, 1967, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 86 years of age.
Mr. Eivins was a native of Clarke county, where he was born April 26, 1880, a son of John and Evaline Smith Evins. When he was 4 years of age he moved with his parents to Union county. They came to Madison county when was about 12 years old.
He was married Nov. 27, 1901, to Alice Schutz. She preceded him in death in 1962. A daughter also died in infancy.
He was a long-time and active member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are two sons, Orlie C. and Clarence L. Eivins of Macksburg; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Coffman of Winterset and Mrs. Margaret Orr of St. Charles; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a brother, Wesley J. Eivins of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Macksburg Methodist church, conduced by the pastor, the Rev. W. W. Richardson. Burial was made in Pleasant View cemetery in Webster township.
