MRS. J. H. WILLCOX DIED LAST FRIDAY

Life-Long Resident of Madison County Was 76 Years of Age.

Mrs. James H. Willcox of Winterset died Friday, Jan 14 at her home here. She was 79 years of age.

Mrs. Willcox was a life-time resident of Madison county. She was the former Verdie M. Estel, daughter of Jerome and Eva Shields Estel. She was born in Jackson township Feb. 25, 1887.

She was married March 9, 1904 to James H. Willcox. Most of their active life was spent in farming in this county. They had moved into Winterset in 1957.

She was a member of the Webster Methodist church and of the Royal Neighbor lodge here.

A son, Lloyd E. Willcox, preceded Mrs. Willcox in death last May. She is survived by her husband; a son, Orville C. Willcox of Earlham; and a brother, Creed Estell of Winterset.

Funeral services were held this Monday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Charles white. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
