Hazel Stroeber, Winterset

Hazel L. Stroeber, 97, died September 13, 1994 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Sept. 16 at the United Methodist Church of Macksburg with burial at Graceland Cemetery at Creston. The Rev. Ed Holland officiated.

Mrs. Stroeber was born in Thayer on December 10, 1896 to William and Mary (McNeal) Boyer. She married Edward A. Stroeber November 10, 1917 in Creston. She was a retired homemaker and farmer. She had lived in Madison County for 62 years and was member of the Friendly Neighbor Garden Club, the United Methodist Women's Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Farm Bureau. She was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, two daughters, one brother and one sister.

Surviving relatives include a son, Robert E. Stroeber and wife Naomi, of West Des Moines; one daughter-in-law, Elva Stroeber of Dallas Center; one son-in-law, Ross E. Johnson, Sr. of Maryville, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Martha Boyer of Wooster, Ohio; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to her church or to Community Care Center of Winterset, where she was a resident.
