SIDNEY R. WHITE, Dies at 88 Years

Sidney R. White, a resident of Madison county for nearly half a century, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 1967, at a Winterset nursing home. He was 88 years of age.

Mr. White was a native of Montgomery county, where he was born June 18, 1878, a son of Robert F. and Margaret Botts White. He came to Madison county 48 years ago. His active life was spent in farming.

Mr. White was married at Red Oak in August, 1902, to Gertrude Mae DeWitt. She preceded him in death. An infant son also preceded him in death.

Survivng are six children; Robert A. White of Paradise, Calif.; Mrs. Gailen Smith and Lawrence J. White of Winterset; Mrs. Don Letz of Earlham; and Mrs. Mable Kastler and S. Merrill White, both of Winterset. He also leaves 15 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; a brothr, Claude White of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Brierly of Boulder, Colo.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. William Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial was made in Clark cemetery.
