D. BERDELLA SHEARER, Winterset

Services for D. Berdella Shearer, 91, Winterset, who died March 15, 1985, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Tuesday, March 19 at the Peru Methodist Church with the Rev. Jan Clinton and the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.

Mrs. Shearer resided at the Care Center North in Winterset. She was born at Peru on Dec. 25, 1893, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Miller Emerson. She was a retired Peru school teacher and homemaker.

A lifetime resident of the area, Mrs. Shearer was a member of the Peru Methodist Church, the Peru Garden Club, the World War I Veterans Auxiliary, the Pery Happy Hour and a past matron of the Ivy Chapter of the Truro Eastern Star.

She was married to Claude Shearer at Peru on April 17, 1920.

Survivors include sons, Dale Hugh Shearer of Worland, Wyo., and Donald Clair Shearer of Omaha; daughters, Alma Berniece Miller of Modesto, Calif., and Joseph Rouse of Winterset; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, three brothers and three sisters.
