Services for Berniece Gray, 73, Winterset, who died May 31, 1987, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Wednesday, June 3, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Brite officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born in Madison County on June 26, 1913, she was the daughter of Ben and Neta Smith Harrell. She was a homemaker and a part-time worker at the Lakeview County Club, Gold Buffet, Aldo and a volunteer at the Congregate meal center.
She was married to Lester Gray on Dec. 24, 1930 at the Church of Christ parsonage in Winterset. A lifetime resident of the area, Mrs. Gray was a member of the First Christian Church and the Good-Neighbor Club.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Wilma Eggman of Creston, Janice (Mrs. Larry) McCauley of Scranton, and Rita (Mrs. John) Eyerly of Buena Vista, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
