Page 1Death of Carl Alexander
Carlton Curtis Alexander died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines last Friday at 3:30 p.m., his death being due to measles and other complications.
He was born April 6, 1889 at Union, Iowa and died April 14, 1911 in Des Moines.
At the age of ten, he came to Winterset with his parents, where he made his home until the last year. He graduated from the Winterset high school in the class of 1909. Since then, he has been in the west until last September, when he entered the Iowa Business College in Des Moines, where he remained until his death.
In 1907, he became a member of the First Baptist church of Winterset, where he always remained a faithful worker, he was also a member of the Y.M.C.A. of Des Moines. He was always a favorite among his teachers and school mates and a kind, loving son and brother in the home.
He leaves to mourn his loss, a father, three brothers and two sisters, besides a host of friends and school mates. His mother has preceeded him to that better land where we know they both hold sweet communion with their Lord, Jesus Christ.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Osborne of Des Moines, at Rock City cemetery last Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
