Jesse J. Furrow was born August 25th, 1839, in Shelby county, Ohio. He was united in marriage to Nancy C. Kyle, to which union six children were born, three boys and three girls.

In 1881 their house was burned and the three girls perished in the flames.

His wife departed this life Feb. 7, 1898. He was married to Mary J. Morris, March 14th, 1900, who with the three sons still survive him.

He united with the Christian church in early boyhood under the labors of Elder John McMillan, and was faithful to his vows until the reaper of death came to claim him.

The funeral services were held from the Christian church conducted by his pastor Rev. E. E. Bennett, of which church he was a member of the executive board at the time of his death.
