GUY H. HANDLEY DIES AT 65 YEARS

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Lorimor Methodist church for Guy H. Handley, a prominent Madison county farmer for many years, whose death had occurred June 6 at Memorial hospital in Winterset. The Rev. Lester Greenwood officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.

Mr. Handley was 65 years of age at his death. He was born near Macksburg, May 24, 1900. His active life was spent in farming. For 33 years he had been a leader in the Madison county ASCS organization. He was a member of the Beulah church.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Grout of Lorimor; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Shigley and Mrs. Lulu Nelson of Lorimor; and two brothers, Harvey Handley of Lorimor and Earl Handley of New Virginia.

Guy Handley, 65, Of Lorimor, Dies

LORIMOR—Guy Handley, 65, a farmer north of Lorimor, died at the hospital at Winterset Sunday evening. He had suffered a heart attack on Saturday.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist church in Lorimor. Rev. Lester Greenwood, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Lorimor cemetery.

Guy Handley was born in Madison county, May 24, 1900. He was the son of Ferris and Emma Givan Handley. He was married to Frances Simpson, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Mrs. Loren (Lois) Grout of Lorimor; three grandchildren, Sharon, Gwen and Gary Grout of Lorimor; two brothers, Harvey Handley of Lorimor an Earl Handley of Truro; and two sisters; Mrs. Minnie Shigley of Lorimor and Mrs. Guy Nelson of Winterset.

GUY HAROLD HANDLEY

Guy Harold Handley was born near Macksburg in Madison co. Iowa, May 24, 1900 and passed away at the Memorial Hospital in Winterset, Sunday June 6, at the age of 65 years and 12 days.

On December 25, 1923 he was married to Frances Simpson.

Most of his entire life was engaged in farming. He worked with the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation of Madison Co. for thirty-three years.

He was a member of the Beulah church.

Surviving are his wife Frances, one daughter, Lois Grout, two brothers Harvey Handley of Lorimor, Earl Handley of New Virginia, two sisters, Minnie Shigley and Lulu Nelson of Lorimor, a son-in-law Loren Grout and three grandchildren, Sharon, Gary and Gwynn, also a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 9, at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church in Lorimor with Rev. Lester Greenwood officiating. Music was furnished by Bernard Wight accompanied by Cristal Wight and Mr. Elton Hammans at the organ. John Chew, Claude Grout, Robert Harrell, Clifford Harrell Jr., Delbert Harrell, Mack Jamison, Dale Davis and Berwin Fife served as pallbearers. Interment was at the Lorimor cemetery.
