Pg 1Obituary
Lydia Ann Bugbee was born in Plainfield, N. H. March 27, 1846 and died at her home in Lincoln township on Aug. 31, 1909, after a short but painful illness.
Her early life was spent at the place of her birth, where she taught school until she came west in 1871. She afterwards taught school in Indiana and Illinois until she was married to Levi Alexander July 10, 1879. To this union five children were born. Roy of Earlham, Ia., Jessie of Winterset, Ia., Dean, of Fox, Oregon, Erving, of Hale, Mo., and Carl of Winterset.
Mrs. Alexander professed faith in Christ sixteen years ago and united with the Baptist church of Winterset in 1908. She was a devoted wife and mother and a consistant member of the church, and a kind neighbor has passed out of this life into that larger life of fuller fellowship with Him whom she loved and worshiped as her Lord.
The funeral occurred Saturday from the home conducted by Rev. Atwood, and interment was made in the Rock City cemetery.
