Anice Haun, Winterset

Services for Anice Haun, 81, Winterset who died Feb. 17 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital were held Saturday, Feb. 19 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Winterset cemetery.

She was born Jan. 28, 1902 at Fairfax, Mo., the daughter of Isaac and Sue Hawkins Thompson. She married Harry C. Haun Aug. 10, 1927 at Albany, Mo. A nurse, Mrs. Haun worked at the county hospital here for 22 years before retiring in 1971.

She was a resident here for 35 years, coming from Maryville, Mo., and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star Lodge, 60-Plus Club, United Methodist Women, Madison County Nurses Association, a graduate of Park College at Parkville, Mo., and the Presbyterian School of Nursing in Chicago.

Survivors include a son, James of Elkhart, Iowa; daughters, Sue Tucker of Winterset, Joan Anderson of Waukee, and Betty Ketchum of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Milton H. Thompson of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Harry, two brothers and two sisters.
