Services for Joe Egy, 80, rural Winterset, who died May 25 at Mercy Hospital Medical center, were held Wednesday, May 28, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Morrow officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
Born in Madison County on April 9, 1906, he was the son of David and Mertie Rehard Egy. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Methodist Church and a lifetime resident of the area.
On Feb. 20, 1929, he was married to Mary Haymond at Newton.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, JoAnn Vandeberg of San Francisco, Calif.; and a sister, Hazel Case of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
