Mary Marie Egy, 92, of San Francisco, Calif.; died May 15, 2001, of multiple organ system failure at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco.
Burial of the cremains will be at Winterset Cemetery. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at the cemetery with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. There will be no visitation.
Mary Egy was born Jan. 23, 1909, in Madison County to George and Edith (Kipp) Haymond. She married Joe E. Egy on Feb. 20, 1929, in Newton. A homemaker, Mary spent her lifetime in Madison County until four years ago, when she moved to San Francisco. She was a member of the First United Methodist in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Vandenberg (husband John) of San Francisco, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
