Page 1Death of G. T. Darnall
George Thomas Darnall was born in Hendricks county, Indiana, April 12, 1835, and died April 9, 1909, being 73 years, 11 months and 27 days old. He was the youngest of ten children, all of whom have passed away before him.
He was married to Elizabeth Leinard March 25th, 1856, who departed this life October 7, 1897. To them were born eight children, two of whom died in infancy and the eldest daughter, Sylvia Clark, passed away Feb. 16, 1905. One daughter, Mrs. Minnie Wilkinson of Winterset, and four sons, S. V. and J. C. of Burlington, Iowa, and F. A. and Salathiel of Winterset survive him. The deceased was an early settler of Madison county, coming here in the fifties and has been a resident of the county ever since.
The funeral services were held at the home of his daughter Mrs. Minnie Wilkinson, conducted by Rev. E. E. Bennett of the Christian church, assisted by Rev. House of the Church of Christ, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Rock City cemetery.

George Darnall died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Wilkinson, Friday night.
Mr. Darnall has lived in Winterset 50 years. For many years he has been a peace officer. He was one of the most popular men in the city.
The funeral was held Sunday, conducted by Rev. House.
He is survived by four sons and one daughter. Since the death of his wife he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Wilkinson.
