Nancy A. Rush was born in Indiana, April 7, 1843, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Ladd in Madison county, Iowa, May 28, 1915 at the age of 72 years, 1 month, 21 days. She came to Mahaska county, Iowa with her parents in the year 1846 and a few years later to Madison county, which has since been her home.

She was married to John T. Shultz June 7, 1860 who preceded her in death six years ago. To this union were born five children, all of whom were present at the funeral. Two sons and three daughters, Mrs. J. W. Ladd of Douglas township, Mrs. S. E. Trindle of Jefferson township, Emmet of Carthage, S. D., Mrs. H. C. Addy of Jefferson township and Artie R. of Des Moines, Iowa.

She leaves to mourn her loss besides her children, ten grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

In early life she united with the Christian church, later with the U. B. church of this place of which she was a faithful member at the time of her death.

The funeral services were held at the Jefferson church Sunday, conducted by Rev. Baber of Van Meter. Burial was at the Jefferson cemetary.

Nancy Ann Shultz

Nancy Ann Shultz died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Ladd of Madison township on last Friday at the age of twenty-two. Funeral services and burial were held at the Jefferson U. B. church on Sunday. Rev. Mr. Baber of Van Meter assisted by Rev. Father Young conducting the services.

Mr. and Mrs. Shultz were among the early settlers of the north part of the county. The husband died about three years ago. More particulars will be given in obituary notice to be published next week.
