Mrs. Louisa Walters, an old and respected citizen of Winterset, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thos. Morris. The funeral occurred today conducted by Rev. N. D. Gordon, of Milo, and she was laid to rest in the Hooten cemetery.

Page 1Louisa Elizabeth Hart was born in Whitley county, Kentucky, May 22d, 1828, and died Dec. 22d, 1809 (1909), age 81 years 7 months. She was married to John Walters April 10th, 1848, to this union were borne nine children, four boys and five girls, the husband and three children having preceded her to that better World. She leaves too mourn her loss, six children, Mrs. Morris, Mat Walters, Sherman Walters, Mrs. Fields, of Winterset, Weston Walter, of Missouri, and Mrs. Maggie Childers, of Lemar, Colo. She was converted and united with the Baptist church in 1868, and from then on leading a faithful Christian life. She was a good companion, loving mother and a kind generous neighbor ready and willing to help those who were in need.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. N. D. Gordon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Morris in Winterset in the presence of a large circle of friends and relatives who gathered to pay the last tribute of respect to one whom they had known and loved for many years. She was laid to rest in Hooten cemetery. May God's choicest blessing rest upon and comfort the bereaved children.
