Services for Alta B. Cameron, 77, Winterset, who died Nov. 2 at Care Center North, were held Saturday, Nov. 5 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Scranton Township Cemetery, Scranton.
Born at Scribner, Neb., Jan. 30, 1906, she was the daughter of Charles and Martha Ankeny Brown. She married Alvin R. Cameron May 28, 1934 at Scranton and spent the past 35 years in Madison County.
She was a homemaker and schoolteacher in the Rippey, Patterson and Winterset schools. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Patterson and Winterset United Methodist Women, the Eastern Star and AARP.

Page 25, Column 3WINTERSET, IA. - Services for Alta Cameron, 77, of Winterset, who died Wednesday of cancer at a Winterset nursing home, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church here. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Scranton Township Cemetery in Scranton.
Mrs. Cameron taught school in Patterson and Winterset.
Survivors include a son, Elmer of Davis City; two daughters, Alice Blair of Lorimor and Mary McConnelee of Winterset; two brothers, Allan Brown of Lanesboro and Dale Brown of Ogden; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
