Charles Loring Cameron of 520 E. Benton St. died Sunday Nov. 9, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 85. A native of Madison County, he had lived here all of his life.
Born on Nov. 11, 1894, in Winterset, he was the son of Robert Elmer and Mary Ann Hircock Cameron. He was united in marriage to Nellie Patton on March 22, 1916, in Winterset, and his wife survives him. Mr. Cameron was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Odd Fellow's Lodge.
Also surviving are four children, Richard W. Cameron of Des Moines; Ora K. Blair Austin of Paonia, Colo.; Jeanette L. McKee and Annabelle Ross, both of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Marion Cameron of Winterset. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Raymond D. Cameron; a brother, Elmer; and a sister Helen Pilmer.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Byron Ayers officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
