Irene Tracy, Peru

Irene Tracy, 90, of Peru, died of complications of Alzheimer's on Dec. 30, 1996 at the Community Care of Winterset. Funeral services were Jan. 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Father Ed Pfeffer and Father Frank Palmer officiated the services and burial was at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Bridgewater.

She was born in Bridgewater on Nov. 3, 1906 to Martin F. and Emma K. (Reis) Tracy. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Madison County for the past 56 years, having come from Adair Coounty. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset and had served as president of the Altar and Rosary society, CCD teacher for several years and was past regional chairman and treasurer of the DCCW.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Surviving relatives include two brothers, Thomas J. Tracy of Des Moines and Richard G. Tracy of Peru; two sisters, Elma Tracy of Peru and Marcella Miller of Norwalk; and one sister-in-law, Blanche Tracy of Greenfield.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Earlham Home Health Care Hospice.
