Mrs. Anna M. Nichol died suddenly last Friday forenoon, at her home in the west part of town, the immediate cause of her death being heart failure, though she had been an invalid for many years. Her life was one which, though blighted by suffering and bereavement, furnished a beautiful example of resignation and amiability. Since the death of her husband about ten years ago, and for sometime previous, Mrs. Nichol has been a bedridden invald, debarred from all active part in life, yet her lovable character endeared her to many friends, in whose welfare she was cordially interested, and to whom her memory will ever be a tender recollection.

She leaves an only daughter, Miss Ella Nichol, whose life has been spent in filial devotion to her invalid mother.

The funeral services were held at the home on last Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. C. Herring, of the Presbyterian church, of which Mrs. Nichol was a member. On Monday the remains were taken to Keokuk, the former family home, and there interred, with services by the Rev. J. H. Malcom, a former resident of Winterset, and an (the last five words are unreadable on the micro film.)

The funeral of Mrs. A. M. Nichol, on last Sunday was attended by her brother, Mr. Purinton, of Ft. Worth, Texas; Mrs. Howard, of Oskaloosa; Mrs. Green and Mrs. Hamilton, of Des Moines; and Miss Mary Cox, of Chicago.
