Grace Lamb, Winterset

Grace Ellen Lamb, 87, of Winterset, died of complications due to a stroke March 17, 1997, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Winterset. The Rev. Bobby Dickerson will officiate the service, and burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 10, 1909 in Union County, the daughter of John and Myrtle Mae (Handley) McCants. She married Cloyd Lamb on Aug. 29, 1929 in Adel. She was a resident of Madison County for 66 years. She was a retired beautician. She was a member of Eastern Star and the First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister.

Surviving relatives include a son, Richard Dean Lamb and wife Dolores of Greeley, Colo.; a daughter, Marilyn Kay Knight and husband LeRoy of Des Moines; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a sister, Hazel Marle Hackley of Winterset.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Collins Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church.
